Children will be provided with cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurts and a drink of milk, water or fresh juice upon arrival.
Our lovely school dinner ladies provide our children with a well balanced nutritional hot meal. The meals can be purchased or alternately children bring a packed lunch to these sessions. Please provide a small quantity that your child would normally eat, for example a small sandwich, yoghurt, a piece of fruit and a biscuit or a piece of home baking is more than adequate. You may want to provide a small drink, or we will provide water. We feel that lunch time is an important social occasion and the children are supported to enjoy all aspects of this time.
Twilight Sessions/Out of School Club
Children will be provided with a healthy option for twilight sessions, a light snack option such as sandwiches/pasta/ soup with a choice of fruit/yoghurt/ piece of home baking and a drink. If you feel your child may need an extra snack from home, please label this clearly in their packed lunch so we know it is for after preschool club.
As part of our commitment to the healthy child programme we would only encourage food and drink that promotes good well-being. For instance, we would politely request that your child does not bring sweets, crisps or fizzy drinks to eat in setting, either at lunchtime or teatime.
All children can access fresh drinking water through the day and they are encouraged to freely access milk and fresh produce either fruit/vegetables/yoghurts throughout the session at our self service snack shack.
Food Allergies and all dietary requirements will be catered for. If your child has a food allergy, please ensure that this is clearly marked on the application form and a member of staff is informed so that a menu can be planned. For more information on allergens please see a member of the team.
